This collection was inspired by dystopian fiction and a sole traveler, specifically in a winter world. This collection was inspired by science fiction novels, such as Dark Matter by Blake Crouch (from which the collection name comes from), Gone World by Tom Sweterlitsch, and Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.
